School Rules!

Yay! Back to school time! Although Kyndal had a blast this summer at the Cooper YMCA, she was really excited to start first grade last week. Reminds me of myself at her age, I really enjoyed school too. She's got a week under her belt and is loving it. Her teacher is Mrs. Faubel and she seems to really like her and the new friends she is meeting in class.

Corbin moved up to a new class on the same day as big sis, and he's pretty excited about it too! He is in the 4 year old class, the "Butterfly" room at Hopeland (Hope Community Church). He just graduated out of the "Busy Bees" room. He also seems to really like his new teacher, Ms. Mary. This week they are working on the letter "M" and he was so excited about all the humps he drew and that he learned about the "uppercase M" too! YAY for learning!!!

KC's Creations

After many arguments and fights at the dinner table over one certain position at the table, I decided to try out an idea I had. I created and laminated an individual nametag for each one of us and applied tape to the back. Each evening I rotate the nametags around one spot. From the first day that we used them the arguments have ceased!! Well, except for when I forget to rotate the tags!

Casey's original comment was that he's never seen a table with nametags...but since the fighting over it has stopped, he's not complaining! (They find plenty of other things to argue about though!) This past weekend I decided to move the nametags to the backs of our chairs as I was constantly replacing the tape and it was a pain to wipe down the table.

Back to School BBQ

To celebrate the start of the school year for Kyndal and some of our closest friends, we had a little get together a few nights before the first day. First, here's some pics of our end of Summer Adventure Club at the YMCA party:
Ok, and I have to throw in this sweet one of my kiddos and their boots! I found Kyndal a new pair a few weeks ago since she's started riding at Aunt Erika's house and Kennedy was digging around in her drawer and found hers....she has finally grown into them!

Now for the BBQ....Kennedy and her crazy hair...she actually let me put pigtails in!!!

The Whiting's, Leader's and Buresh's came over to chill with us.

Before we know it these three baby girls will be starting their first years! Kamree and Caroline will be going in 2 years and Kennedy in three years. Time will fly for us mommies!

Chowing down!

Daniel takes a night off of football to taunt the little ones!

Our first graders!!! Carson, Kyndal and Layla!!

Down at the County Fair

So, like the last few years we headed to the Lancaster County Fair. It was on a week night, so we didn't stay super late. I left work a little early so we could get a head start. It was the perfect night, 70s and sunny and we took our nephew, James, with us.

First we checked out all the animals and a few exhibits and watched the pig races! Kyndal especially liked watching the horse show.

Then we purchased enough tickets to let the kids a few rides. We weren't sure how she'd do, but Kennedy had a blast!

And MY favorite part...we loaded up on fair food! It's just not the same without a fresh milkshake, funnel cake and cotton candy! We snuck a peak over the fence at the demolition derby before heading home. It got Casey all fired up....he participated in some derby's when we were dating in college!

Take off my training wheels!

That is what Corbin came into the house and said several days ago. I was like, "Whatever"....until he came running into the house 15 minutes later, calling for me to come watch. Usually that signals that I better bring a camera, something big must be brewing.
Upon his demands, Casey had removed his training wheels and with a little push, Corbin was off (4 years old!!!) We were pretty stunned! At first he couldn't get started by himself or turn around, but since then he has gotten both of those pretty much figured out too. Way to go Corby!!

This is Carson Leader behind him...he probably got the idea because he wanted to be like the big kids!
